Michael Thompson
Managing Director
The company founder who remains at its heart today, Michael’s career in construction started from the ground up. After leaving school, Michael started out as a labourer, where his natural skill and strong work ethic was evident. Combining hands-on experience with a growing understanding of the industry, he quickly developed a deep appreciation for every aspect of construction.
Driven by his attention to detail, client-focused approach and genuine passion for quality, Michael founded Premier Plant in 2013, initially as a hard landscaping business. Under his leadership, the company has evolved and expanded, shaping Premier into the trusted, successful business it is today.
Christopher Andrews
Director
Christopher’s journey into the industry also began at a young age, starting out as a labourer. His drive and talent quickly propelled him to Foreman and later to Site Manager, where he gained valuable experience working with several well-known companies.
In 2019, Christopher joined Premier with the focus to expand the business and develop a comprehensive surfacing division. With Christopher’s reputation, experience and hands-on approach, this division has continued to grow and plays a key role in the company’s ongoing success.
Brendan Kearney
Contracts Manager
Brendan began his career in 1996 as a Trainee Site Engineer in tarmac, combining practical experience with degree-level studies. After graduating he spent 10 years working on major infrastructure projects across the UK, including highways, tunnelling and nuclear works.
After four years working overseas, Brendan moved to the North East where he worked as a freelance engineer for 10 years before progressing to project management. In 2019, he joined Premier as Contracts Manager, bringing his vast experience and expertise that continue to make him a valued member of the team.
Jason Cartwright
Quantity Surveyor
Starting his career as a mechanical engineer, Jason transitioned to a Trainee Quantity Surveyor role in 1998. After qualifying in 2000, his career advanced with several well-known national companies. Over the years, Jason has contributed to major multi-million-pound infrastructure projects, including the Birmingham Toll Road and the M1/M25 Widening. In 2021, he joined Premier as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and has been a key member of the team ever since.
